The 19th Wife: A Spellbinding Novel Of Literary Suspense

The modern day readers are always on the lookout to read creative books. Using sites like Selectvu, they get access to the latest books online. The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff is one such book. It combines the elements of epic historical fiction with a modern murder mystery to form a classic novel of literary suspense.

The book describes two different stories and gloriously merges them together towards the end. The first part of the book dates back to the 18th century. In the year 1875, Ann Eliza Young has just been separated from her powerful husband, Brigham Young. He is a prophet and a highly acclaimed leader of the Mormon Church. The abandoned Ann Eliza ventures on a crusade to end polygamy in the United States. The narrative takes us through her family's polygamous history, it also includes how a young woman became a plural wife.

Just as the story starts getting interesting, a second gripping narrative unfolds. It describes the murder involving a polygamist family in the present day Utah. Then we are introduced to Jordan Scott. As a teenager, he was expelled from his family and religious community. Jordan returns from California to find his mother in jail. His father had been shot dead in front of his computer, and one of his many wives- Jordan's mother- is accused of the crime. He must go back to the place that outcast him, to uncover the truth behind his father's death.

As Ann Eliza's narrative intertwines with that of Jordan's search, readers are pulled deeper into the mysteries of love and faith. You can easily find this novel on Selectvu. Happy reading!
